Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen | Explore the Emerald Glass Chedi and Hidden Meili Café

Simply take the MRT to Bang Phai Station and walk 800 meters into the alley to reach Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen. Its a pleasant walk and doesnt feel far. If you prefer not to walk, you can hop on a motorcycle taxi for just 10 baht. As you approach the bridge to Wat Paknam, youll find a hidden café on the right side.

**Meili Café** (เหม่ยลี่คาเฟ่) is a hidden gem known for its signature Ma-pit (a local fruit) delicacies. The Ma-pit in syrup paired with an Americano is a refreshing blend of sweet and sour, comparable to orange-based drinks. Another favorite is the Ma-pit mixed with honey soda, which is sweet, sour, fragrant, and very refreshing. There's even a secret spot with a view of the giant Buddhaask the photographer to take a picture for you, but thats our little secret.

At the temple, the first thing youll notice from afar is the giant Buddha statue in meditation posture, which was built following a vision of Luang Por Sod. This massive Buddha, made of copper, stands as tall as a 20-story building and enshrines relics of the Buddha.

**The Great Chedi Maha Ratchamongkol**, a blend of Rattanakosin and Lanna architectural styles, allows visitors to explore five floors inside:

1st Floor: The Mahachan Khunarom Room, a local museum displaying a variety of ancient artifacts.

2nd Floor: The Dhammakaya Khunarom Room, a meditation and ceremony space.

3rd Floor: The Sangha Khunarom Room, a museum dedicated to the personal belongings and gifts received by the Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangalacharn.

4th Floor: The Buddha Khunarom Room, housing a gold statue of Luang Por Sod (also known as Phra Mongkolthepmuni), the revered abbot of Wat Paknam.

5th Floor: The Buddha Khunarom Room features a hand-carved replica of the Emerald Glass Chedi, which enshrines Buddha relics, a crystal orb, a golden Buddha statue, and the revered gold statue of Luang Por Sod.
